Autistic artist draws New York from memory

Stephen Wiltshire–”The Living Camera”
This astonishing 18ft drawing of the world’s most famous skyline was created by autistic artist Stephen Wiltshire after he spent just 20 minutes in a helicopter gazing at the panorama.
The unbelievably intricate picture was drawn at Brooklyn’s prestigious Pratt Institute from Stephen’s memory, with details of every building sketched in to scale.
Landmarks including the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building can be seen towering above smaller buildings after just three days in his spellbinding creation.
[video] Storytelling with sand and light–the art that brought me to tears [video]
Being a writer, I’m always interested in learning new ways to tell a story. Well, I found one called Sand Painting. I’ve never seen anything expressed so beautifully. Watch this woman from a show called “Ukraine has the Talent” tell an emotional story with sand and light in 10 minutes. Even if you can’t watch the whole thing, I guarantee you’ll be awe-struck within the first mintue…

Celebrities drawn from crayons! [art]
Can you believe the photos below were all drawn from crayons? About the artist:
“Don Marco was born in Northern Minnesota in the late 1920’s. His interest in art was evident even before starting school. As a young adult in the Army Air Corp, he began his life’s career in Air Traffic Control, which continued until his retirement from Honolulu International Airport in 1973. Much of his spare time was spent as a professional artist. Before retirement, Don started developing a technique to create fine art using Crayola Crayons. Shortly after retiring he published his first print. Living in Southern California, his work was in demand including commissions from Burt Reynolds and a one-man show at his Dinner Theater in Florida.”

The world’s first underwater sculpture park
I thrive on creativity and unique ideas, and was thrilled to find this beautiful world of underwater art created by Jason de Caires Taylor. Here are some samples of what you’ll find on the website:

“The sculptures are sited in clear shallow waters to afford easy access by divers, snorkellers and those in glass-bottomed boats. Viewers are invited to discover the beauty of our underwater planet and to appreciate the processes of reef evolution.”

Dream anatomy
This anatomical imagery is detailed inspiration. Some are beautiful and whimsical,, while others are quite grotesque.
“Drawn mainly from the collections of the National Library of Medicine, Dream Anatomy shows off the anatomical imagination in some of its most astonishing incarnations, from 1500 to the present.”

Q: About your dreams: how do you interpret them? Are they in color or black and white? Have they ever helped you solve a problem or led to a published story/poem?
