The videos of the account of Pastor Daniel Ekechukwu’s resurrection are hard to understand in places.  For more information, see the link at the bottom of this post.

Nigerian pastor Daniel Ekechukwu physically died in the late evening of Friday, November 30th, 2001, was dead for at least 42 hours, visited heaven and hell during the time of his physical death, and was raised from the dead between 3:50 P.M. and 5:15 P.M. on Sunday, December 2nd, 2001 in the basement of the Grace of God Mission, located in Onitsha, Nigeria.

Part 2 – Angelic encounter in the ambulance where they take him to heaven and explain the differences between the gathering of the angels vs the gathering of the saints.

Part 3 – Description of the heavenly mansions and singing flowers.  Then an angel takes Daniel to hell where he describes the experience…the angel explains the reason why the pastor encounters a soul who practiced witchcraft (Rev 21:8).

Part 4 –  The angel explains to Daniel why if the book of life was closed, hell would be Daniel’s portion.  Powerful message about reaping the harvest of unforgiveness and Daniel’s insatiable desire for revenge…

A Point to Ponder:

1) I was thinking about the number of views this video received so far: Views: 22,271.  Compare that to Susan Boyle: Views: 78,717,532.  Just thought I’d throw that in.

2) Regarding salvation–if everyone is going to heaven, why did Jesus have to die?

A couple purchased this old church in Kyloe, North Cumberland, England.  They invested lots of money to keep the outside and inside as it was, and restored instead of renovated (3 times more money).

What a heavenly idea!

Remember when Peter rushed into Jesus’ tomb and saw the burial linen cloth neatly folded (John 20)?  Have you ever wondered why?

The answer lies in the Hebrew tradition of that day.  The folded napkin had to do with the master and servant; every Jewish boy knew this tradition.  When the servant set the master’s dinner table, it was exactly how the master wanted it.  The table was furnished perfectly and then the servant would wait out of sight until the master finished eating.  The servant wouldn’t dare touch the table until the master was finished.

If the master was done eating, he would rise from the table, wipe his fingers, mouth, beard, and then he would wad the napkin and toss it on to the table.  The servant then knew it was time to clear the table.  In those days, the wadded napkin meant, “I’m done.”  But if the master rose from the table and folded his napkin next to the plate, the servant wouldn’t dare touch the table because…the folded napkin meant, “I’m coming back!”

Jesus IS COMING BACK!!!

UPDATE: The source is probably from here.  But where they got their source is unknown.  Another website that disclaims this theory.  I would like some historians, scholars, theologians, etc to post their thoughts about the cloth surrounding the above scripture.  True or not, I enjoy different perspectives (as my magazine indicates!).  Tradition or not, it is written in Matthew 24:30 that He is returning.

We complain about the cross we bear, but don’t realize it is preparing us for the dip in the road that God can see and we cannot. 

What would you do if you saw him in the mall?  Walk by?  Laugh?  Argue?

I read this unique article a while ago and thought I’d share it with you.

The author was watching a CSI episode and thought, “What if you could do a forensic investigation on a soul?”  Hence, this article.  It is unique, entertaining, and incubates self-reflection.  Here’s an excerpt:

“Let’s be the CSI team assigned to the disaster that is the life of Saul. Let’s do the forensic investigation. If we were to zoom in to the soul of King Saul, we would find it underdeveloped, emaciated, and diseased. Now a first-year forensic investigator of the soul might conclude that this resulted from all of the rebellious sins Saul had committed. The older, wiser, and more seasoned investigator would know from experience that though sin can cause this kind of damage, in the case of King Saul, total spiritual negligence warped his soul into this pathetic condition…”

I journaled the following message at a time when I was burdened with guilt for giving in to temptations. I reasoned: good Christians don’t do these things or even think about these things. It was hard to believe that He saw me in a positive way, or that He would want to use me. That’s when He told me to journal these words:

Monique? Why do you continue to crucify the Lord? He died once; IT IS FINISHED. [If He wanted my attention, He had it.]

Why does your mind bleed from the mental thorns of the past? He laid a crown of thorns on His head; He already received the necessary judgment for sins committed in your mind–known and unknown. Why do you crucify yourself with shame while remembering your past actions? His hands were nailed to the cross; He already received the required judgment for all the sins committed by your former actions. Why do you crucify yourself with guilt for walking in unrighteous ways? His feet was nailed to the tree for sins committed in your rebellious walk. Why do you pierce your heart and bleed with worry and unforgiveness? His heart was pierced for sins committed against others–times when you lacked compassion and forgiveness for yourself and those who were weak.

A crown of thorns for sins committed by thought. Nail-driven wrists for sins committed by past actions. Nail-driven feet for sins committed during your walk of rebellion. A pierced heart for unforgiveness towards yourself and your fellow men.

Rise up and walk in the life He planned for you. He died once to destroy the works of your enemy. Stop giving your accuser the victory. IT IS FINISHED.

We grieve His heart when we don’t let go of our past. Remember: we bear His image. Is it any wonder that unbelievers fear coming to the living God? He is within us–rejoicing over us triumphs. But is that what people see? Probably not. Instead, we appear before others as emotionally, physically, and spiritually baptized in defeat.

There is no need to live in the tomb of guilt and regret. It’s true; our Savior paid an unimaginable price for our sins. But He is risen! Let us reward His sacrifice by living in joy, victory, and thankfulness.
