Heather Mills $50,000 Escape

Heather Mills has begged Sir Richard Branson to let her move to his private Caribbean Island.

The 40 year old former model claims her life has been made hell since her divorce from Sir Paul McCartney, 66, earlier this year and has pleaded with the business tycoon to be allowed to move to Necker Island, his 74-acre paradise in the British Virgin Islands, in order to “escape the hate.”

A source said: “She wants to spend a year there to rest and rebuild her life.  She has been in touch with Sir Richard and she is comfortable he will allow her to live there for a while.”

The island accommodates 28 people and its properties, which cost $50,000 a day to rent have two private beaches, swimming pools, tennis courts, a personal chef and access to water sports.

Brooke Shields “freaks out” [celebrities]

American actress Brooke Shields showed her dislike for jokes aimed at dead people by getting up from her seat at a recent comedy competition.  Shields had dropped in at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade theatre over the weekend to be a panellist during a 72-hour marathon of comedy sketches, but “freaked out” when some jokes turned crass, revealed a witness.

“Everything was going great until three comics came out, each playing a dead star,” New York Daily News quoted the eyewitness as saying. “One was playing Heath Ledger as the Joker, and he just kept listing prescription pills he had in his pocket. Another was playing Estelle Getty, and the third was Bernie Mac’s ghost,” the eyewitness said.

It was at this point that Shields stopped smiling and left to watch the show from backstage.

“When someone pretended to dump Estelle Getty’s ashes on ["30 Rock" star] Jack McBrayer’s head, Brooke got up and walked offstage. She watched the rest of the show from behind a curtain backstage, with a grimace,” added the witness.

“Mariah Carey has reportedly called off her second wedding to new husband Nick Cannon because she can’t get it funded. The singer wanted a service for friends and family after tying the knot with Cannon in April.  But no magazines were interested in buying exclusive photos which would have funded the day, says In Touch Weekly.”

Babel makes audience sick

” The Japanese distributor of the new film Babel is warning audiences that the movie may cause nausea or headaches.
” Gaga Communications has received 15 complaints since the film, starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett, opened Saturday across Japan. Company spokeswoman Aimi Ichikawa syas the company is investigating which scenes caused the illnesses, and hasn’t ordered theatres to adjust sound or lighting.
” The problem of nausea or headaches has only been reported in Japan.”
